While a true gentleman owe to himself to keep track with the latest trends, nothing screams fashion-faux pas than to overkill it and appear like a “fashion victim”. Not all trends are there to stay and as such we always advice to invest in timeless pieces and add a bit of fun with some trendy accessories and garment. Here are our five favourite trends for this summer.

It’s the color surprise of the season. Yellow accents or even bolder color-blocking lit up the summer catwalks at Hermès, Gucci and Alexander McQueen.
While we are not fan of the total look, a yellow polo shirt, a yellow handkerchief or a yellow tie would be a nice addition to any gentleman’s wardrobe.

The 90s street wear look is here, and here to stay apparently. While, going to the office dressed as a NSYNC era Justin Timbelake might not be the best idea, there are a couple of ways to incorporate a sportier look to your everyday business look by opting for a more casual suit or classy sneakers.

Shorter pants
Perfect to achieve a relaxed summer look, a good pair of “high waters” pants is a good investment, granted that they are the right length. Indeed, the pants shouldn’t been to short nor they should be too long. Do not hesitate to book an appointment with one our tailors to discuss the perfect length for you.

A quintessential look for summer, neutral linen tones and sandy shades were a dominant element of the tailored looks at Dries Van Noten and Alexander. Which is great news as natural fabrics such as linen are perfect for the summer heat as explained HERE (INSERT LINK TO ARTICLE 1).

While base ball caps is still pretty much a no-no with a suit, force to admit that caps have been the it-accessory lately, appearing on the runways for Balenciaga and Acne Studios. We would advice to keep it simple and choose a uniformed classic colour such as black, grey, dark blue or camel. Wear it with a slightly sportier suit, for example with a black tee shirt, as seen on Adam Callagher
